FED:Govt pick panel to use seniors knowledge

Former deputy Prime Minister BRIAN HOWE has been appointed to the panel to advise the
government on how to use the experience of Australia's growing community of seniors.

The federal government today announced EVERALD COMPTON and Professor GILL LEWIN would
join Professor HOWE on the advisory panel on the Economic Potential of Senior Australians.

The panel will consider how Australia can harness the intellectual capital of seniors
and improve the workforce participation of older workers with government reports showing
the proportion of people aged at least 65 years is set to increase to 23 per cent by 2050.
