Modellers make a splash.

MANY visitors attended Bridlington Model Boat Society's open day at the weekend, making it a successful event.

One organiser said: "We had lots of visitors both general public and from other model boat clubs, probably around 250 over the weekend.

"Although the weather could have been kinder it didn't spoil any of the enjoyment.

"We had 24 heats of the cabin cruiser racing and this was a very hard fought fight."

The trophy winners were: Seniors - John Baker (1st), John Foster (2nd) and Chris Ransome (3rd). Juniors - William Bell (1st), Robbyn Jenkinson (2nd) and Michael Greenwood (3rd).
