QLD:Qld minister Robert Schwarten to retire=2

Local Government and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships Minister Desley
Boyle followed Mr Schwarten in announcing her retirement.

She will tender her resignation from Cabinet on Monday and won't contest the next election.

She said there was much she still wanted to do in her portfolios.

"(But) I think it better that I stand down and provide an opportunity for a younger
person with the best years of their political life still ahead," she said.

Leader of the House Judy Spence has already announced her retirement from politics
at the next election.

She had earlier considered a mid-term retirement but ruled that out in December.
